MPs reviewed the law “On introduction changes and amendments to Law “On advertisement” and article 178-1 of Code of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility” at their session on 22 June.

In line with the document, Uzbekistan will ban advertisement of tobacco products, as well as alcohol drinks of any degree.

The law also introduces changes and amendments, which forbids use of foreign words and phrases in advertisement, which could distort meaning of information.

The document also bans advertisement of stimulating lotteries, competitions, games and other similar events, which requires consumers to purchase any product.

During discussions, MPs noted that these changes and amendments are directed at protecting health of population of Uzbekistan.

The law was passed taking into account opinions, directed to improving some clauses. The law will be directed to Senate of Oliy Majlis for approval.
