Uzbekistan to ban private medical activity
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan adopted a law, which forbids individuals to carry out private medical activity in the country.

Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved a law “On introduction of changes to articles 10 and 11 of the law of Uzbekistan “On protection of citizens’ healthcare” on 7 May.

The law introduces changes to article 10 “Private and other healthcare systems” and article 11 “Licensing of medical and pharmaceutical activity”. These changes forbid individuals from carrying out private medical activity in Uzbekistan.

Senators noted that the law is directed at improving legal base for carrying our reforms in healthcare system, main task of which is to strengthen legal guarantees for skilled medical services to population of Uzbekistan.
