Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will send US$150 million for business development in the Surkhandarya region. This is provided by the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan "On additional measures to create a favorable investment climate, encourage small business and family entrepreneurship in Surkhandarya region."
According to the document, the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan will provide these funds.
In particular, US$100 million will be directed to family business projects. Another 150 million will receive the National Bank of Uzbekistan and other banks to finance initiatives for the production of import-substituting products.
The head of Uzbekistan instructed the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade to attract US$50 million for the creation of modern greenhouses - they plan to receive funds from international financial institutions.
