Uzbekistan to adopt programme of reforming banking sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A draft presidential resolution “On measures on further reforming and improving sustainability of financial-banking system of Uzbekistan in 2016-2020” was published at the single interactive state services portal.

The document will approve a complex of measures on further deepening reforms and improving sustainability of financial-banking system of Uzbekistan in 2016-2020.

Within the complex of measures, it is planned to expand spectrum and quality of banking services with use of modern ICT technologies, as well as cashless payment system with use of banking cards.

It is also planned to strengthen financial sustainability of non-banking credit organizations and improve quality of their services. It will also envisage measures on introduction of international standards and norms in the sector and assessment of its activities.

The document will also stipulate measures on improving mobile and internet communication in Uzbekistan with attraction of Ministry for development of information technologies and communications and mobile and internet providers.

In particular, they will lay new optic-fibre lines and modernize land communication and equipment of the automatic switching centers.

Mobile operators will realize measures on installation additional antenna and modernize existing infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted data transfer.

From 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2020, the banks will be exempted from payment of tax for property in the part of ATMs, POS-terminals, communication and other equipment for conducting payments with use of banking cards.
