Uzbekistan to adopt law “On electronic government”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is planning to adopt new law “On electronic government” in near future.

The law will be adopted within the complex programme on development of national information-communication system of Uzbekistan for 2013-2020.

The document envisages to adopt legal, organizational and technical measures on further developing the electronic government system, UzA reported.

It is also planned to develop and adopt the law “On electronic government”, state standards on inter-departmental cooperation and exchange data, forming data base in various directions, creation of public procurement services, etc.

The report said that it is planned to form the Center for development of system “Electronic Government” and the Center for ensuring information safety under the Service on reacting to computer incidents of the Center for Development and Introduction of Computer and Information technologies Uzinfocom.

Introduction of electronic government system will fully transfer to transaction services, which will allow population not to visit the state bodies, but receive state services via information-communication technologies.

Uzbekistan works on introduction of information and communication technologies to render interactive state services to population and legal entities via websites of the state bodies and the Governmental portal of Uzbekistan.

According to the State Committee for Communication, Information and Telecommunication Technologies of Uzbekistan, there were 49 state interactive services and as of 1 July 2013 their number reached 197.

Currently, the state bodies provide 617 interactive state services via their website. On 1 July 2013, the single portal of interactive state services has been launched at the address my.gov.uz.

The portal provides about 60 interactive services now, which will be expanded later. Among the services are application of connection to fixed telephony and internet, receive certificates from the state tax bodies on debt, etc.
