The Government of Uzbekistan held a meeting on 18 January and adopted decision “On the results of socio-economic development of Uzbekistan in 2012 and main priorities of economic program for 2013”.
According to the decision, state committee will develop and submit a complex programme on development of national information-communication systems for 2013-2017 to the Cabinet of Ministers by 1 April 2013.
Uzbek leader also entrusted the committee to introduce international and industrial standards, criteria and indicators on assessment of informatization level into industry.
The committee should speed up development of concept and complex programme on formation of system “Electronic government”, electronic form of interactive state services to population and businesses.
President of Uzbekistan entrusted the committee to continue work on development of communication technologies, increase speed of data transfer, complete construction of 2,000 km optic-fiber network, ensure broadband access to information resources, etc.
