Uzbekistan to abolish mandatory state participation in market management
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan will abolish the regulation requiring state participation in market management.
This issue was discussed on 27 March at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, focused on the privatization of state assets. During the session, it was noted that local authorities currently hold at least 51 percent of shares in 537 markets and shopping complexes across the country.
The abolition of this requirement aims to stimulate private sector development, attract investment in the trade sector, create additional jobs, and enhance market competition.
