Sports 22/03/2008 Uzbekistan Thrash Jordan In Friendly
This is the second warm-up match for the Middle Eastern side ahead of the March 26 clash against Turkmenistan in Ashghabad for the second 2010 World Cup Asian zone Group 3 qualifiers.

Jordan also lost 2-1 to Qatar last week.

The home side claimed the opening goal through Aerver Djeperov after just four minutes, with Jordan, coached by Portuguese Nelo Vingada, levelling the scoreline seven minutes later through striker Alaa Matalqa who shot home from a crowded goalmouth.

Defender Islom Inomov regained the lead for Uzbekistan after 36 minutes to send his side in at the break narrowly leading their counterparts 2-1.

Sweeper Farkhod Tadjiev and Zayniddin Tadjiev completing the rout in the second-half.

Uzbekistan are due to entertain Saudi Arabia in Group 4 next Wednesday.

The Central Asian side opened their campaign with a 1-0 away win over Lebanon, with their counterparts leading the table standings on goal-difference thanks to their 2-0 home win over Singapore.
