Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The locomotive fleet of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari will be replenished with five more Russian electric locomotives 3ES5K.
By the end of this year, three locomotives of this modification will be delivered, and two more will arrive in the first quarter of 2020, the company’s information service said.
According to the investment program, two electric locomotives of the 3ES5K series were delivered at the beginning of this year. During the operation, the specialists successfully carried out the corresponding tests, which became the motive for signing the contract for five of the same electric locomotives intended for freight trains.
It should be noted that the main advantage of these electric locomotives is the ability to work in areas with complex terrain inherent in the railways of our region. In addition, increasing the weight norm of freight trains allows to increase the productivity of the locomotive.
The 3ES5K modern freight electric locomotive consists of three sections and is oriented to a 1520 mm gauge. The capacity of the electric locomotive is 9840 kW/h, while the capacity of freight locomotives from China (1-section O’zbekiston) is 6000 kW.
In addition, the minimum speed on the go is 49.9 km/h, and the maximum is 110 km/h. An electric locomotive is able to be on the move and in winter, severe cold and sultry summer days. The locomotive cab is fully computerized, all conveniences for the driver are created.
