The company said it launched passenger trains on Tashkent-Termez route via new Tashguzar -Baysun-Kumkurgan railroad on 20 August. The move allows to cut trip time by seven hours.
The company said now trains on Tashkent-Termez route run via Karshi, Tashguzar, Baysun and Kumkurgan.
End-to-end movement of trains at 223-km Tashguzar -Baysun-Kumkurgan railroad was launched on 24 August 2007. Tashguzar -Baysun-Kumkurgan railroad with total cost of US$477 million bypasses neighboring Turkmenistan and decreased passenger and cargo transportation by 170 km.
The construction of railroad was financed due to resources of the State Budget of Uzbekistan, own resources of Uzbekistan Temir Yollaru and loans of the Japanese government.
