Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekiston Temir Yollari denied reports about the termination of the contract for servicing the Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway line.
The company noted that on 5-6 December 2022, negotiations were held between representatives of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari and the Afghan Railway Administration on the operation of the Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway section for 2023.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the extension of the current contract and the preparation of a roadmap for the phased involvement of Afghan local technical personnel to participate in operation on the territory of Afghanistan.
The Afghan media reported that the contract for the management of the Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway, which was built and maintained by Uzbekistan, was received by Mansour Fatih from Kazakhstan.
