Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis has reviewed a draft law aimed at improving family and women’s support systems during its second reading.
The proposed amendments to Article 32 of the Housing Code introduce a provision allowing courts, when resolving disputes over residential property, to require the property owner—at the owner’s initiative and based on mutual agreement—to provide the party being forcibly accommodated with alternative housing of equivalent conditions.
Alternatively, the property owner may be required to cover the cost of renting a suitable residence.
During the preparation of the draft law for the second reading, the responsible committee conducted extensive work, analyzing proposals from deputies and making relevant changes. The document was refined and improved, taking into account the feedback provided.
Deputies highlighted that the adoption of this law will help balance the interests of property owners and participants in housing disputes, while creating more favorable conditions for women. This initiative marks an important step in enhancing the management of family and women-related issues.
The draft law was approved during its third reading.
