Uzbekistan takes part in the tourism exhibition “ITB Berlin” in Germany

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Chairman of the Tourism Committee Umid Shadiev takes part in the work of “ITB Berlin” (Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin), the largest travel and tourism exhibition in the world, on 5-7 March 2024, which brings together hotels, travel agencies, tour operators, online platforms, airlines and other tourism industry experts.

More than 11 thousand representatives of tourism and related industries from more than 180 countries of the world take part in the event, taking place at the Messe Berlin exhibition complex in Berlin with their own stands.

With the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Berlin and the GIZ-German Society for International Cooperation, a national stand of the tourism brand of Uzbekistan was organized at the exhibition, where participants and guests of the exhibition get acquainted with the traditions, customs and rich culture of our country.

At the national stand, more than 30 domestic tourism organizations present their tourism services and products, including the joint stock company Uzbekistan Airways, the International Tourism Center Silk Road Samarkand, the company Rocket DMC Uzbekistan and the Association of Hoteliers of Uzbekistan participating in the exhibition with a delegation from number of representatives of the country’s largest hotels.

In addition, the delegation of Uzbekistan is holding several meetings with foreign partners to discuss prospects for cooperation in the tourism sector, aimed at promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan abroad and increasing the flow of tourists to our country.

The exhibition is scheduled to feature more than 200 panel sessions with more than 400 speakers, and the number of visitors is expected to exceed 160 thousand.

According to official data, 29,608 tourists from Germany visited Uzbekistan in 2023.
