Uzbekistan, Tajikistan start talks on resuming Turkmen power transit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deadlines for resuming Turkmen electricity transit via Uzbekistan are the main topic of Tajik-Uzbek talks, which started in Tashkent, ITAR-TASS has learnt at the state energy monopoly Barq-i Tojik [Tajik Electricity].

The source close to the management of the energy holding said that the Uzbek side had referred to a need for maintenance of electric power line No 512, through which Turkmen electricity was being transferred.

"Our power engineers would like to clarify the deadlines for the completion of maintenance of the electric power line and for resuming transit supplies," an official from Barq-i Tojik said.
