Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan Bid to Host AFC Asian Cup 2031
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The football federations of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan have submitted a joint bid to host the 2031 AFC Asian Cup, the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) announced.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has begun reviewing candidate nations for the continent’s premier football tournament. In recent years, Central Asian countries have been actively developing football infrastructure, modernizing facilities, and strengthening their international football presence.
The UFA emphasized that Uzbekistan, along with its neighboring nations, is prepared to host the tournament at a high level. Stadiums in Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Karshi have been upgraded to meet international standards.
A key advantage of the bid is the region's successful experience in hosting youth tournaments, including the U-20 and U-23 championships, as well as the FIFA Futsal World Cup, demonstrating its readiness to organize a major football event.
