The Uzbeks, playing after the Yemen's match against Bangladesh, ended up on same point and same goal difference against Yemen whom they drew 1-1 before. During the four matches of the qualifiers, Uzbekistan scored eight goals while Yemen managed seven which relegated them to the third position.

Uzbekistan were on course of a comfortable victory over Jordan as Yemen were desperately waiting for the Jordanians to keep on their winning streak after they improved their goal difference earlier against Bangladesh with 5-1 win.

Abdukholikov Temurkhuja continued his brilliant goal scoring touch in the campaign by finding his fourth goal in as many matches in the 32nd minute to put the Uzbeks on top.

Late drama, which saw Jordan scoring three goals in the final 10 minutes of the match and Uzbekistan going down to 10 men did not help the Uzbeks’ cause of easy qualification.

Oudi Khader scored a quick brace in the 82nd and 87th minute to put the Jordanians 2-1 up while Chinese referee Ma Ning ordered his marching order to defender Kashimov Davronbek in the 89th minute.

Jordan’s second half substitute Khalil Zaid scored Jordan’s third in the stoppage time but there were no further drama as one more goal from the Jordanians would have been enough for Yemen to qualify at the cost of Uzbekistan.
