Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan delivered the first batch of onions to Dubai, the largest city in the UAE. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.

The total batch amounted to 48 tons. Onions were grown in Tashkent and Bukhara regions of Uzbekistan.

According to the department, this is the first batch of product shipped on the basis of a phytosanitary certificate.

The Ministry of Agriculture notes that Uzbekistan will soon supply another 48 tons of onions to the UAE based on a phytosanitary certificate. The cargo will be delivered by road.

The ministry noted that the supply of onions to Dubai is a practical result of the Gulfood-2024 exhibition. As part of this exhibition, more than 10 contracts were concluded and profitable agreements were reached for the supply of fruits, vegetables and legumes for the hotel business.
