Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the leadership of the State Unitary Enterprise "Center for Certification of Travel Services" under the State Committee for Tourism has studied the best practices of Malaysia in the field of tourism.
During the visit, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur, the representatives of the Uzbek delegation met with the leadership of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, the Islamic Tourism Center, the Malaysian Association of Travel Agencies, the Malaysian Association of Hotels, representatives of several major travel companies and leading world hotels, like JW Marriott Hotel, Ritz-Carlton and Grand Hyatt.
Representatives of the Malaysian tourism sector were provided with detailed information on the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, large-scale reforms in this area. In particular, it was told about the benefits and preferences in the field of hotel construction.
In turn, employees of tourism departments and responsible organizations of Malaysia noted that Uzbekistan enjoys special interest in the Malaysian market, as evidenced by the increase in tourist flow to the country in January-September 2019 by more than 90 percent compared to the same period in 2018.
Along with this, the Malaysian side shared its experience in developing tourism infrastructure, regulating the tourism industry and attracting foreign tourists to Malaysia.
Representatives of the Center for Certification of Travel Services visited the Malaysian cities of Malacca and Genting Highlands, where they directly got acquainted with the country's experience in the field of tourism.
Following the visit, a number of agreements were reached, which include promoting the introduction of the Muslim friendly standard in restaurants and hotels in Uzbekistan and organizing continuing education courses, establishing cooperation with the Association of Hoteliers of Uzbekistan on organizing short-term field trainings for hotel business employees, and the possibility of organizing an information tour for Malaysian tour operators , representatives of the hotel business, as well as potential investors in Uzbekistan, as well as providing Royalty-free basis of assembly halls, concert venues and other premises located on the territory of the Malaysian Tourism Center for holding tourism and cultural events joint with the Ministry of Tourism, Art and Culture of Malaysia.
