Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan passed the law on 6 March 2012 and the Senate approved it on 23 March 2012. The law came into force on 13 April 2012.
The document is directed at further improving legal and administrative legislation through strengthening for crimes and violation against morality, prevent actions, propaganda violation, cruelty and pornography.
The law introduced changes and amendments to article 130 of Criminal Code and article 189 of the Code of Uzbekistan on administrative responsibility.
The document said that production, import, distribution, advertisement, demonstration of pornographic products or products, promoting cruelty and violence, will be punished with fine at the size from 400 to 600 minimal sizes of salary or three years of correctional works or jail for six months.
Repeat of the crime or commitment of such crime by recidivists, or criminal group will be punished with jail sentence up to three years.
Production, import, distribution, advertisement, demonstration of pornographic products with under ages will be punished with jail sentence from 3 to 5 years.
According to amendments to article 189 of the Code on administrative responsibility, citizens, who accused on production, import, distribution, advertisement, demonstration of products, will be punished with fine at the size from 50 to 100 minimal size of salary, while responsible people – from 100 to 150 minimal size of salary.
The same size of fines will be exposed to those, who produced, imported, distributed, advertised, demonstrated products, promoting cruelty or violence.
