Uzbekistan strengthens cooperation in the field of digitalization with Latvia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 July 2023, within the framework of the global Digital Leadership Forum, representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park met with the former President of the Republic of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Uzbekistan Reinis Trokša.

The Digital Leadership Forum, scheduled for 7-8 July, will bring together over 20 international experts and representatives from over 300 companies and organizations from around the world. Forum participants will discuss issues in different sessions, such as GovTech, EdTech, IT&BPO Outsourcing and Venture.

During the meeting with the former President of Latvia, the guests were provided with detailed information about the forum. The parties discussed the events to be held within the framework of the forum, as well as its significance for the development of the IT industry in Uzbekistan.

Particular attention was paid to the work carried out in the field of digitalization and information technology in Uzbekistan. The guests expressed their interest in strengthening cooperation in the implementation of projects for the development of BPO (business process outsourcing) and KPO (knowledge process outsourcing) services.

The participants of the meeting emphasized that the Digital Leadership Forum and similar events will be an important step for the further development of the IT industry in Uzbekistan and attracting leading foreign companies.

The prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia in the field of digitalization were also discussed. Both sides expressed their readiness to develop partnerships and exchange experience in the field of information technology.

The former President of Latvia noted that Uzbekistan has created a favorable investment and business environment for the development of the IT sector. He expressed confidence that the Digital Leadership Forum will become a successful platform for attracting international companies and experts to Uzbekistan.
