Uzbekistan special service seizes heroin for 240 kg
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Officers of National Security Service (NSS) of Uzbekistan seized 220 kg of heroin in attempt to deliver cargo from Tajikistan to Russia.

NSS carried out special measures to reveal people linked with drug transportation from Tajikistan and Russia and the operation was successfully completed in Bukhara region of Uzbekistan.

Heroin was founded in hiding-place in tailer of KamAZ lorry, which arrived in Bukhara region’s Jondor district from Surkhandarya region. Checking hiding-place, Uzbek officers found 207 polyethylene packages with Afghan production.

Simultaneously, NNS officers arrested organizers of drug supply through Surkhandarya-Bukhara rout in south of Uzbekistan, Surkhandarya region. Among arrested were three brothers of Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region. They were hired by Tajik drug dealers for large sum in foreign currently. It was also revealed that heroin was delivered to Uzbekistan in small quantities through mountain passes, which are difficult to access.

The organizers of drug supply were citizens of Uzbekistan, which earlier committed similar crimes and wanted by law enforcement bodies.

On the same day, about 20 kg of heroin was seized on the same day in Amudarya district of Karakalpakstan from other criminal group. Five persons, including drug dealer from Tajikistan’s Sariasiya district, dealers and buyers were detained.

Criminal cases were opened and investigations are underway.
