The Uzbek side briefed the Spanish official with rich historic and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan and reforms in tourism sector of the country and measures adopted to improve tourism infrastructure.

Spanish official underlined that Uzbekistan has great opportunities for developing tourism, including active tourism, mountain tourism, ecotourism, etc. He said that the countries could develop cooperation in children tourism, historic-educational and rehabilitation tourism.

At the meeting, the sides considered issues of attracting technical assistance and direct investments of Spain into tourism sector. Spanish side expressed interest in cooperation in this direction.

Spanish diplomat said the events in tourism sector play important role. He said that he is ready to his best to attract large tourism companies to the Uzbek-Spanish business forum, which will be held in Tashkent in April 2014 and other events in tourism sector, organized in Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek side invited Spanish side to participate with national stand at the 20th Tashkent International Tourism Fair, which will take place in October 2014.
