Uzbekistan signs loan agreements for US$945 million with IFIs in 3Q
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan signed four loan agreements for US$944.9 million with international financial institutions and donor countries in the third quarter of 2017. Total cost of projects is US$3.5 billion.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) provided US$500 million for implementation of the “Program for construction of affordable houses on updated standard projects in rural areas in 2017-2021. Phase-2”. The cost of the project is US$2.74 billion.

The project envisages provision of mortgage loans for construction of 29,000 residential buildings in rural areas.

The World Bank allocated US$150 million for the project “Development of the Livestock Sector in the Republic of Uzbekistan”. The project’s cost is US$227.82 million.

Uzbekistan and the World Bank also signed loan agreements within the framework of the projects “Modernization and reconstruction of main network substations” and “Water resources management in Ferghana Valley. Phase-2”. Within the framework of the first project, the bank granted a loan for US$150 million to Uzbekistan and the second loan - US$144.9 million.

The cost of the first project is US$292.15 million and the second project is US$228.2 million.
