Uzbekistan Showcases Tourism Potential in Wuhan as Part of China Tourism Year

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the ongoing Uzbekistan Year of Tourism in the People’s Republic of China, a successful tourism roadshow was held in the city of Wuhan (Hubei Province), following a similar presentation in Fuzhou. The event marked a significant milestone in promoting Uzbekistan as an attractive travel destination for the Chinese market.

The main goal of the event was to strengthen tourism and business cooperation between the two countries while positioning Uzbekistan as a promising destination for Chinese travelers.

More than 140 representatives from travel agencies, government bodies, industry associations, businesses, and media attended the roadshow. The Uzbek delegation presented a rich and engaging program highlighting the country’s diverse tourism offerings — from its rich cultural and historical heritage to unique natural landscapes, culinary traditions, and opportunities in business and event tourism.

Special attention was given to promoting the tourism potential of Tashkent and Khorezm regions. Participants were introduced to the regions’ authentic architecture, traditional crafts, national cuisine, and seasonal tours designed specifically for the Chinese tourist market.

A key highlight of the roadshow was a meeting with the Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Hubei Province. Discussions focused on establishing direct interregional cooperation, organizing mutual familiarization tours, supporting regional tourism development initiatives, and the potential launch of direct flights between Wuhan and major cities in Uzbekistan.

The event culminated in the signing of more than six agreements between tour operators from both countries. These agreements aim to develop joint tourism products and boost bilateral tourist flows.

The roadshow in Wuhan represents another important step in Uzbekistan’s broader strategy to strengthen its tourism brand presence in China and lay the foundation for long-term partnerships with the Hubei region.
