Uzbekistan Showcases Investment and Tourism Potential at Forum in Zhejiang Province
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Consulate General of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the administration of China’s Zhejiang Province, organized a business symposium dedicated to expanding trade and economic cooperation with the countries of Central Asia. This was reported by the “Dunyo” Information Agency.
The forum was part of a broader program aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation and brought together representatives of leading economic institutions, business associations, and around 70 companies from Zhejiang. During the event, an extensive presentation was delivered, highlighting Uzbekistan’s investment, trade, and tourism potential as a promising and reliable partner.
The Uzbek side provided detailed information about the country’s policies aimed at creating favorable conditions for foreign investors. Participants were introduced to tax and customs incentives available in special economic zones, as well as state support measures for export-oriented enterprises. Emphasis was placed on the steady and sustainable trajectory of Uzbekistan’s socio-economic development in recent years.
Tourism was given particular attention. It was noted that due to the simplified visa regime for Chinese citizens and regular air connections with several cities in China, Uzbekistan is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for tourists from the PRC.
In turn, Chinese business representatives expressed strong interest in expanding cooperation, particularly in areas such as manufacturing, green energy, energy-efficient technologies, agriculture, and water resource management. These sectors are considered priorities in Zhejiang and have significant potential in Uzbekistan.
A representative of Holley Group, which is already implementing projects in Uzbekistan, praised the country’s favorable investment climate, the strong demand for innovative solutions, and the active support of government agencies, highlighting the company’s successful experience in the Uzbek market.
The symposium concluded with a presentation of current investment projects underway across various regions of the country. As a result of the event, an agreement was reached to organize a business delegation visit from Zhejiang to Uzbekistan in the second half of this year for more in-depth discussions on cooperation and to explore potential sites for joint initiatives.
