Uzbekistan shares experience in antimonopoly regulation at OTS meeting in Hungary
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Second Meeting of Heads of Antimonopoly Authorities of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) took place in the capital of Hungary, with Uzbekistan represented by Farrukh Karabayev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection, according to the Dunyo news agency.
During the event, Farrukh Karabayev provided a detailed overview of the key structural reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as measures aimed at fostering a favorable competitive environment.
He placed special emphasis on practical achievements in eliminating barriers to fair competition, which are being pursued as part of Uzbekistan’s accession process to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Specifically, he highlighted the cancellation of certain exclusive rights and the outcomes of the modernization of antimonopoly policy.
Additionally, the parties agreed to expand cooperation with Hungary, including through the exchange of experience and the introduction of effective antimonopoly regulation tools.
The meeting also addressed relevant issues such as market analysis using artificial intelligence, modern methods for detecting cartel agreements, and the adoption of the meeting's final communiqué.
This event served as an important platform for strengthening professional ties between the antimonopoly authorities of OTS member states and advancing joint initiatives to promote fair competition.
