Uzbekistan sets zakat, fitr sadaqah, and fidya amounts for Ramadan 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Fatwa Center of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan has determined the amounts for zakat, fitr sadaqah, and fidya for the holy month of Ramadan in 2025, based on the current prices of gold and food products.

The zakat amount for 2025 is set at 61.2 million soums, calculated based on the value of 85 grams of 585-karat gold. Accordingly, individuals possessing wealth or assets equivalent to this amount—whether in cash, commercial property, or other holdings—are required to donate 2.5% of their assets as zakat.

The fitr sadaqah, an obligatory charitable donation during Ramadan, is determined according to food prices. Specifically, the cost of two kilograms of wheat flour is 10,000 soums, four kilograms of barley—16,000 soums, two kilograms of raisins—110,000 soums, and four kilograms of dates—180,000 soums. Each believer may choose to donate one of these food items or contribute its monetary equivalent based on their means.

The fidya for each missed day of fasting is set equal to the amount of fitr sadaqah. Those unable to fast due to valid reasons must donate one of the listed food items or its cash equivalent.

It is important to note that the holy month of Ramadan in Uzbekistan begins on 1 March.
