Uzbekistan sells 15 tons of gold in Q1 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In March 2025, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan remained the world’s top gold seller among central banks, recording net sales of 11 tons, according to a report by the World Gold Council (WGC).

Uzbekistan’s total net gold sales reached 15 tons in the first quarter of 2025. Other net sellers included Singapore, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

The most active gold buyer among global central banks was once again the National Bank of Poland, which added 16 tons to its reserves in March. Over the first quarter, Poland increased its gold holdings by 49 tons.

Azerbaijan, China, Kazakhstan, and the Czech Republic also ranked among the top five gold buyers. In total, central banks purchased 35 tons of gold and sold 18 tons in March 2025.
