Uzbekistan, Sasol consider implementation of CTL project
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan and South African Sasol are considering opportunity for construction of plant on production of synthetic liquid fuel from coal (CTL - coal to liquid).

The sides are planning to consider expediency of organization of CTL production at the base of Angren coal field in Tashkent region, Gazeta.uz reported.

In line with preliminary terms, the capacity of CTL-plant will make up 500,000 tonnes of diesel fuel a year. The project can be implemented within five years.

Reserves of Angren coal field is 2.5 billion tonnes. About 3 million tonnes of coal are mined a year now and directed to meet energy and household needs,

As earlier reported, Uzbekneftegaz national holding company and South African envoy to Uzbekistan Tebogo Seokolo discussed cooperation of the sides on this project.
