Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place in Moscow between the First Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee, Jamshid Abdusalomov, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Botirjon Asadov, and the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Tourism and Tourist Infrastructure Development, Sangadji Tarbaev.
During the talks, the Uzbek side presented information on current initiatives aimed at developing tourism in Uzbekistan, with the goal of attracting more international and domestic tourists. Efforts to create favorable conditions for private entrepreneurs in the tourism sector were also highlighted.
The Russian delegation was introduced to Uzbekistan’s tourism offerings, which are based on the country’s rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and unique natural resources. Special attention was given to new tourist destinations that may appeal to Russian travelers.
Sangadji Tarbaev praised the tourism reforms being implemented by the Uzbek government and expressed interest in further expanding bilateral cooperation.
Both parties agreed to continue sharing expertise in tourism, focusing on promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in Russia, advancing the digitalization of tourism services, ensuring sustainable tourism development, and improving the hospitality industry.
