Uzbekistan, Russia to sign declaration on deepening strategic partnership
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Russia on Monday, 4 June 2012, are planning to sign a declaration on deepening strategic partnership, aide of the Russian President Yuriy Ushakov stated.

Yuriy Ushakov added that Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia are also planning to sign a memorandum of understanding on accession of Uzbekistan to free trade zone in the CIS from 18 October 2011, the Russian media reported.

The documents will be signed during the official visit of the Russian President Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan, which will take place on 4 June 2012.

Russian official said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Uzbek President Islam Karimov will discuss issues of developing strategic partnership, diversification of economic relations and accession of Uzbekistan to the CIS free trade zone.

He said that the visit of the President Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan will be short, but the presidents will discuss actual issues of bilateral relations and international issues face-to-face.

Yuriy Ushakov stated that President Karimov stated readiness to join the CIS free trade zone treaty. He said that accession of Uzbekistan to treaty is not easy process and Uzbekistan should negotiate conditions for joining to the agreement. He said that Uzbekistan vowed its intention to join agreement and Russia will assist to help the country to joint it. He said that all the talks will be completed by the end of 2012.
