Economy 30/11/2007 Uzbekistan, Russia sign energy, customs cooperation accords
Thus, Aleksey Fedorov, head of Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), and Quvondiq Sanaqulov, a deputy Uzbek prime minister, signed a memorandum between the Uzbek government and the UAC on coordinating the procedure for the integration of the Tashkent Aviation Construction Production Association named after Chkalov TAPOiCh and the UAC.

An intergovernmental agreement on mutually protecting the intellectual property used and gained in the course of bilateral military and technical cooperation was signed by Deputy Russian Justice Minister Nikolay Savchenko and Uzbek Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade Elyor Ganiyev.

Two protocols were also signed. A document on starting the implementation of an investment project to construct a liquefied gas plant at the Muborak gas refinery in Uzbekistan’s southern Qasqadaryo Region by setting up a joint venture was signed by Leonid Bokhanovskiy, first vice-president of the Russian company Stroytransgaz, and Shavkat Majidov, first deputy chairman of the board of directors of the Uzbek oil and gas company Uzbekneftegaz.

A protocol between the Uzbek State Customs Committee SCC and the Russian FCS Federal Customs Service on exchanging preliminary information about goods and transport moving across state borders was signed by Sergey Shokhin, a deputy head of the FCS, and Sodirxon Nosirov, chairman of the SCC.

Ivanov and Mirziyoyev also signed a protocol on the tenth session of the Uzbek-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
