Uzbekistan, Russia sign agreement on mutual investment protection
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Russia signed a package of agreements in economy, migration and culture in the result of negotiations between presidents of two states Vladimir Putin and Islam Karimov.

As reported earlier, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has arrived in Moscow on 14 April within official visit to the Russian Federation on the invitation of President Vladimir Putin.

In particular, Uzbekistan and Russia signed intergovernmental agreement on encouragement and mutual protection of investments. The agreement between Government of Russia and Government of Uzbekistan on readmission and executive protocol on order of implementation of the agreement between Government of Russia and Government of Uzbekistan on readmission was also signed.

The sides also inked a programme on intergovernmental economic cooperation for 2013-2017 and programme of intergovernmental cooperation in cultural-humanitarian and scientific-technical spheres in 2013-2015.

On the eve of the visit of Uzbek President Islam Karimov to Russia, the countries signed an agreement on cooperation in environment protection between Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on nature protection.

Federal Service on Financial Monitoring of Russia and Department for fighting tax, currency crimes and legalization of criminal income under the Prosecutor-General’s Office of Uzbekistan signed an agreement on interaction in fighting legalization of income, received from criminal activities, and financing terrorism.

The sides also inked a protocol on interaction between Federal Customs Service of Russia and State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan on combating customs violations, related with movement of goods via air transport.
