"In the near future we will think of setting up a new enterprise in Uzbekistan, which will be kind of a joint venture for producing railroad wagons to meet the interests of both Uzbekistan and Russia," he said after a session of the Uzbek-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
"Both Uzbekistan and Russia suffer from the shortage of wagons, primarily freight wagons," Ivanov explained. He also added that the factory would, above all, be aimed at meeting the two countries’ domestic demands, and only then at export.
