Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ookla has published data from the Speedtest.net service on the monthly Speedtest Global Index rating for January 2021. Uzbekistan has shown growth in the speed of fixed and mobile Internet.

According to the data for January 2021, Uzbekistan ranks 94th in the overall rating in terms of fixed broadband speed, thereby adding two positions up. The data download speed is 34.62 Mbps.

The indicators of the mobile Internet have also improved. So, at the end of January 2021, the speed of the mobile Internet in the republic was 12.94 Mbps. Uzbekistan on this indicator has risen by two points and today occupies the 128th position.

It should be noted that over the past two years, Uzbekistan has noticeably improved its position in the global Internet ranking. So, over the past two years (from January 2019 to January 2021), the speed of the fixed Internet in Uzbekistan has more than tripled - from 10.89 Mbps in January 2019 to 34.26 Mbps in January 2021. In January 2020, our country was in 104th place among 180 countries in the rating for the speed of fixed Internet, in January 2021 it was in 94th (growth by 10 positions up) for the year.
