Uzbekistan resumes gas supplies to two southern Kyrgyz regions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 October, Uztransgaz resumed pumping gas along a gas pipeline that feeds the Kyrgyzstan’s southern regions of Osh and Jalal-Abad, the press service of the open joint stock company Kyrgyzgaz has said.

At present, the towns of Osh and Mayli-Say are receiving the needed amount of natural gas. Jalal-Abad will start receiving it during the day.

Talks held between the head of Kyrgyzgaz, Salamat Aytikeyev, and the Uztrangaz management last Friday, 16 October, in Tashkent resulted in connecting Jalal-Abad Region to the gas pipeline. From 20 October, the supply of gas to the population and industrial facilities in the region will be carried out as before.

As of 1 October 2009, debt of all customers for used gas in the entire system of Kyrgyzgaz exceeded 353m soms. Of it, 204m soms is population’s debt, over 35m soms of public sector organizations and over 113m soms of industrial companies.
