Uzbekistan reorganizes Institute for studying civil society
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Independent institute on monitoring of formation of civil society (IIMFCS) was created on the base of the Institute for studying civil society (ISCS) in Uzbekistan.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov approved proposals of the Council of founders of ISCS on reorganization of the institute on 12 July 2011.

The decision was adopted to improve system of monitoring of processes of formation of civil society, strengthening role in democratic update and modernization of the country, as well as increasing political culture, legal knowledge and public-political activity of the citizens.

According to the presidential resolution, the regional information-analytical centers of the ISCS were reorganized to branches of the IIMFCS. The institute will employ 294 people.

The IIMFCS will ensure implementation of tasks, determined at the concept of further deepening democratic reforms and forming civil society, proposed by the President of Uzbekistan in November 2010.

The Institute for studying civil society was created in 2003 as independent non-governmental and non-commercial organization.

The aim of the institute’s activity is to develop recommendations on formation of institutes of civil society, expand their rights and role in state management and public, increase political-legal knowledge of citizens, etc.
