Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Experts from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) have recognized Uzbekistan as one of the countries with advancing cybersecurity, placing it in the T2 Advancing category, according to the 2024 Global Cybersecurity Index report.
This year, Uzbekistan scored 89.2 points, a significant increase from its 2021 score of 71.11.
Countries such as Austria, Israel, China, and Russia are also included in the T2 Advancing category.
Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov highlighted that Uzbekistan’s inclusion in this category demonstrates the country’s strong focus on cybersecurity development.
“There is still much to be done, especially in an era where digital technologies increasingly permeate our daily lives. One of the biggest challenges is raising awareness across all sectors of the population about cyber threats and equipping them with skills to avoid becoming victims of fraud,” he emphasized.
