Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the first half of 2022, Uzbekistan received remittances in the amount of US$6.53 billion, which is almost twice as much compared to the same period in 2021. This is stated in the report of the Central Bank.
At the same time, according to the regulator, the volume of money transfers from Uzbekistan amounted to US$875 million.
The regulator notes that Uzbekistan received US$5.7 billion worth of remittances from the CIS countries, including US$5.3 billion from Russia. US$327 million was sent from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan in the reporting period.
The volume of remittances from the United States amounted to US$237 million, from South Korea - US$138 million and Turkey - US$104 million.
Money transfers worth US$247 million were sent from Uzbekistan to Turkey, US$210 million to Russia and US$84 million to China.
