Uzbekistan receives refugees from Kyrgyzstan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan organized tent camp in border areas with Kyrgyzstan, where refugees from neighbouring states, who fled violence, were placed. According to some data, about 75,000-80,000 people are staying at the camp.

Uzbekistan’s channel Akhborot news programme said the main part of refugees is children, children and elder people. Uzbekistan provided food and medical aid to refugees. Medical establishments rendered necessary aid to victims, including with bullet injuries.

Representatives of international organizations visited refugees camp and hospitals in Andijan region, the report said.

Anita Nirodi, Permanent Representatives of UNDP in Uzbekistan, said: "Refugees were provided with essential medical assistance, food and shelter in the camps we have visited. We have witnessed that Uzbekistan's authorities provide all possible help to those refugees."

UNICEF Representative in Uzbekistan Jean-Michel Delmotte said: "I would especially note that the Uzbek government is quickly providing qualified assistance to and creating all conditions for the refugees.”

It is worth to noted that UNICEF and UNHCR stated on Monday that they are sending humanitarian aid to Uzbekistan.
