Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 December, Uzbekistan resumed the delivery of the antiviral drug "Sofosbuvir-400 mg," provided by the government of Egypt as humanitarian aid. This was reported by the Dunyo news agency.
The eighth shipment, delivered by Uzbekistan Airways from Sharm El Sheikh to Tashkent, contains 7,200 units of the "Sofosbuvir-400 mg" drug. These medications will be distributed to patients at the Research Institute of Virology under the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.
According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the government of Egypt will send a total of 800,000 units of the drugs "Daclatasvir," "Sofosbuvir," and "Entecavir" to the country as part of the humanitarian aid initiative. These medications are used for the treatment of hepatitis C. The total volume of aid will be approximately 40 tons, with an estimated value of $4.2 million.
To date, Uzbekistan has already received 13.4 tons of medications in stages, totaling $1.461 million.
