Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has improved its position in the e-government rankings, entering the Very High EGDI (Electronic Government Development Index) group, according to the UN E-Government Survey 2024 prepared by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA).
This is a significant achievement, especially considering the country climbed 18 positions in the previous ranking. Over the last two rankings, Uzbekistan has improved its position by 24 places.
In 2022, Uzbekistan was ranked 69th with an index of 0.7265. In 2024, the country moved up 6 positions to 63rd place, with an index of 0.7999.
This is Uzbekistan’s first entry into the Very High EGDI group, having previously been in the High EGDI group.
Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, noted that this result exceeds the target set in the "Digital Uzbekistan 2030" strategy for 2025, which was set at 0.75.
