Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The international anti-corruption organization Transparency International published the Corruption Perceptions Index for 2023.

In the new index, Uzbekistan took 121st place out of 180, rising five positions compared to 2022. The country shares this place with Angola, Mongolia and Peru.

The Uzbekistan index was 33 points on a 100-point scale, where 0 is an extremely high level of corruption, and 100 is an extremely low level.

The regional review notes that the creation of the Anti-Corruption Agency, improved legislation and economic liberalization have contributed to a significant improvement in Uzbekistan's rating in recent years.
