Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Following the directive of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan has sent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
The aid includes food and medicines, as reported by the press service of the Khokimiyat of Surkhandarya region.
Additionally, from 25 to 30 December, residents of Afghanistan’s Balkh province will have the opportunity to undergo free medical examinations with experienced Uzbek doctors. A "health train" consisting of nine medical and sanitary carriages will be used for this purpose.
The humanitarian aid was sent in response to a request made by the Afghan side during a recent bilateral meeting between the two governments.
The delivery of the cargo was organized by the Khokim of Surkhandarya region, Ulgbek Kosimov, representatives from the ministries of transport and foreign affairs, and the railway company Uzbekistan Temir Yollari.
