Uzbekistan proposes automatic pension assignment
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 13 February, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis approved a draft law in its first reading aimed at introducing a proactive pension assignment system, the lower house of parliament reported.
The initiative seeks to enhance the quality of public services and accelerate the digitalization of the pension system.
The proposed amendments to the Law on State Pension Provision of Citizens provide for the automatic assignment of pensions to men upon reaching 60 years of age and women at 55, eliminating the need to submit applications or provide supporting documents.
Previously, citizens had to personally visit the Pension Fund and public service centers, gathering the necessary documents to confirm their eligibility for pension payments. Now, this process will be fully automated through information exchange between relevant ministries and agencies.
According to Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Gulnora Rakhimova, the new system will allow around 250,000 people annually to avoid visiting the Pension Fund, significantly saving time and financial resources.
