Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2024, Uzbekistan produced building materials worth 40 trillion soums. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Association "Uzsanotqurilishmateriallari," Jamshid Shermetov.

According to him, the production plan was exceeded by 5.4%. The sector’s share in the country’s industry was 4.8%.

Last year, the sector attracted USUS$2.2 billion in investments, of which US$1.4 billion were foreign investments and loans.

In 2024, exports amounted to US$840 million. At the same time, the geography of exports expanded through markets in Thailand, Belgium, Israel, Spain, France, Croatia, Iraq, Brazil, and other countries. More than 10 new types of products were exported last year.

To further increase exports and enter new markets, the "Uzsanotqurilishmateriallari" Association is opening trade houses and warehouses in foreign countries. Specifically, the "Uzbekistan Trading House," specializing in the sale of building materials, is actively operating in Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.

As part of the localization program, products worth 3.5 trillion soums were produced in 2024, which is 104.5% of the set plan.

Jamshid Shermetov also noted that a separate factoring body will be opened to provide working capital to exporters, with US$100 million allocated for this purpose. Up to US$20,000 will be reimbursed for expenses related to compliance with international certifications.

Laboratory equipment imported for development and research centers will be exempt from customs duties. Additionally, US$2 million will be allocated to promote local products through international marketplaces.
