Uzbekistan produces agriculture goods for 1.812 trln. soums in 1Q 2012
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-March 2012, the gross agricultural output in Uzbekistan made up 1.812 billion soums or grew by 6.1% year-on-year, of which output of plant-growing – 279.4 billion soums (+5.2%) and that of animal husbandry – 1.532 trillion soums (+6.3%).

In the structure of production of gross agricultural output, the share of dekhkan farms was 88.7% (in January-March 2011 – 89.1%), private farms – 5.8% (5.6%), and agricultural enterprises – 5.5% (5.3%).

Plant-growing

In January-March 2012, the share of crop production in total agricultural output was 15.4% (in January-March 2011 – 14.6%).

As of 1 April 2012, the total area under main crops in all types of farms (including winter crops for yield of 2012), according to the preliminary data, made up 1.724 million hectares.

The area under grains was 1.473 million hectares or 96.2% to January-March 2011, of which under wheat – 1.381 million hectares (97.6%).

Animal husbandry

In January-March 2012, the share of animal production in total agricultural output was 84.6%.

As of 1 April 2012, the population of cattle in farms of all types has increased by 620,400 heads or 6.8% (including cows – by 159,900 heads or 4.3%), sheep and goats - by 530,500 heads or 3.3%, and poultry - by 4.965 million heads or 13.7%.

In the total stock, the share of cattle in dekhkan farms was 93.7%, in private farms – 5.2%, cows – 94.7% and 4.5%, sheep and goats – 80.6% and 7.3%, pigs – 80.1% and 8.3%, poultry – 62.1% and 12.3% respectively.

In January-March 2012, farms of all types produced 336,300 tonnes of meat in living weight (6.3% more than in January-March 2011), 1.234 million tonnes of milk (7%), 755.2 million eggs (15%), 0,600 tonnes of wool (4.1%), and 389,200 pieces of karakuls (6.5%).

The share of dekhkan farms in total production of meat was 94.1%, milk – 95.4%, eggs – 46.2%, wool – 90.1%, and karakuls – 73.3%.

Private farms

As of 1 April 2012, the sown area of private farms (including winter crops for yield of 2012) was 1.392 million hectares, of which 1.261 million hectares under grains, 59,200 hectares under industrial crops (of which 50,200 hectares under cotton), 4,500 hectares under potatoes, 8,700 hectares under vegetable and melons, and 57,400 hectares under forage crops.

As of 1 April, private farms had 507,200 heads of cattle (including 175,400 cows), 1.2 million sheep and goats, 8,000 pigs, 5.077 million heads of poultry.

In the reporting period the number of cattle in private farms increased by 13,500 heads or 2.7% (including cows by 3,500 heads or 2%), sheep and goats - by 50,100 heads or 4.4%, poultry – by 721,300 heads or 16.6%.
