Uzbekistan produces agriculture goods for 18.042 trillion soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-September 2012, the total volume of agricultural output in Uzbekistan reached 18.042 trillion soums or grew by 7.1% year-on-year, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The committee said that output of plant-growing made up 10.174 trillion soums (+7.2%) and animal husbandry – 7.867 trillion soums (7.1%).

Plant-growing

In January-September 2012, the share of crop production in total agricultural output was 56.4%, the Uzbek committee said.

According to the preliminary data, as of 1 October 2012 the total sown area of agricultural crops for the yield of the current year in farms of all types was 3.584 million hectares.

The area under grains was 1.605 million hectares, cotton – 1.308 million hectares, forage crops – 298,800 hectares, vegetables – 182,500 hectares and potatoes – 75,500 hectares.

Harvesting

As of 1 October 2012, farms of all types produced 7.026 million tonnes of grains, of which 6.669 million tonnes were spiked cereal and 6.512 million tonnes – wheat.

The production of potatoes was 1.516 million tonnes (+10.7% to the level of the corresponding period of 2011), vegetables – 5.413 million tonnes (+11.1%), melons and gourds – 1.017 million tonnes (+9%), fruit and berries – 1.386 million tonnes (+10.3%), and grapes – 810,300 tonnes (+12,1%).

Animal husbandry

In January-September 2012, the share of animal production in total agricultural output was 43.6%.

As of 1 October 2012, the number of cattle increased by 538,400 heads (+5.7%), of which cows – by 145,000 heads (+3.7%), sheep and goats - by 841,300 heads (+5.3%), poultry - by 6.308 million heads (+15.7%).

In the total stock, the share of cattle in dekhkan farms made up 93.9%, in private farms – 5.1%, cows – 94.7% and 4.5%, sheep and goats – 81.8% and 7.4%, pigs – 80.9% and 8.4%, poultry – 62.9% and 12,1% respectively.

In January-September 2012, farms of all types produced 1.211 million tonnes of meat in living weight (7% more than in January-September 2011), 5.261 million tonnes of milk (+7.2%), 2.92 billion eggs (+14%), 24,000 tonnes of wool (+5.6%), and 1.031 million pieces of karakuls (+5.2%).

The output produced by private farms in January-September 2012 reached 6.062 trillion soums or rose by 6.5% year-on-year.

As of 1 October 2012, the number of cattle in private farms has increased by 10,600 (+2.1%), cows by 4,200 (+2.4%), sheep and goats – by 48,100 (+4%), and poultry – by 587,700 (+11,7%).
