Uzbekistan produces 5.337m tonnes of grain in 1H

As of 1 July 2009, farms of all types in Uzbekistan produced 5.337 million tonnes of grains, including 5.331 million tonnes of spiked cereal, of which 5.177 million tonnes were wheat.
Farms have increased the production of grains in Surkhandarya region (by 10.8%), Khorezm region (by 9,4%), Andijan region (by 2.6%), Tashkent region (by 2.5%), Syrdarya region (by 1.9%), Navoi region (by 0.9%), and Bukhara region (by 0.8%).
The production of potatoes reached 706,300 tonnes, vegetables - 1.278 million tonnes, melons and gourds - 82,400 tonnes, fruit and berries - 458,100 tonnes, grapes - 11,900 tonnes.
Agriculture output of Uzbekistan grew by 4.6% year-on-year in January-June 2009 to 4.985 trillion soums.
The committee said output of plant-growing was 2.657 trillion soums or increased by 3.1% year-on-year in the reporting period.
