Uzbekistan produces 23,964.4 tonnes of silkworm cocoons

Uzbekistan produced 23,964.4 tonnes of silkworm cocoons as of 1 July 2009, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said. The growth rate was 2.2% year-on-year.
The Uzbek farmers produced 0.9 tonnes of prime quality, 14,4 tonnes - grade elite, 175,000 - seed cocoons, 9,435.7 tonnes - first grade, 6,681.6 tonnes - second grade, 841 tonnes - nonstandard, 5,267.7 tonnes - off-quality, and 1,548.1 tonnes - karapachak.
